Source hierarchy

We prefer current manufacturer and merchant product pages for product-specific specifications. When a manufacturer page is unavailable or incomplete, we may use product manuals and established retailer documentation while clearly avoiding unsupported details.

Unless a page explicitly says otherwise, Backyard Beam does not claim personal hands-on testing of a product. “Review” pages can be research-driven buying guides that interpret published specifications and market context.

Affiliate relationships

Affiliate compensation can influence which commercial product receives the strongest purchase pathway, but it does not justify inventing specifications or suppressing material tradeoffs. Comparison pages should explain where a competitor can make more sense for a different use case.
