How to Set Up the NothingProjector OpenAir Series Outdoors

A practical setup sequence based on the product's folding-frame design, with extra attention to leveling, projector alignment and wind safety.

NothingProjector markets the OpenAir Series as a three-minute, tool-free screen. That claim describes the core frame-and-screen workflow; a careful outdoor installation should also include site selection, leveling, anchoring and projector alignment.

Recommended setup order

  1. Choose the site first. Favor flat ground, a darker viewing direction and enough clearance for the full frame width plus tie-down lines.
  2. Unfold and lock the frame. Confirm every joint is fully seated before loading the screen surface.
  3. Attach the screen evenly. Work around the perimeter rather than fully tensioning one side first.
  4. Install the legs and choose height. Use the position that keeps the image comfortable for your seating plan.
  5. Stabilize before projecting. Use the supplied wind-resistant lines and the intended stability system where ground conditions allow.
  6. Place the projector. Center long-throw projectors carefully; for UST, make small position changes because geometry changes quickly at short distance.
  7. Focus before using keystone. Physical alignment generally preserves more image resolution than heavy digital correction.
Outdoor safety: Large screens catch wind. If conditions become gusty, take the screen down rather than relying on anchors to make a temporary screen behave like a permanent structure.

After the movie

Let the screen surface dry completely before storage if it has collected dew. Fold and pack only after the material is clean and dry, and keep hardware separated from the viewing surface to reduce scuffing.
